KIRSTEN L. THOMPSON

Audio Engineer

ABOUT KIRSTEN

During her teenage years, Kirsten first became entranced by the world of sound through her beginnings as a musician. Since then, she pursued a B.S. from Elon University with emphasis placed on live sound production, audio engineering as well as mixing. Kirsten further endeavored to complete two internships with highly esteemed theaters across the East Coast - The Naples Players in southwestern Florida and Hangar Theatre Company in upstate New York. All of this occurred before she turned the age of 21.

Post-graduation, Kirsten immediately moved to Orlando, Florida to be employed with the Walt Disney Company as an entertainment stage technician at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Although she was most often found working on a stage show, she also assisted with various events - such as the Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey, dedication ceremony for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney’s Magical Holiday Celebration on ABC and multiple press events for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

These days, Kirsten is a technical director for the Carolina Theatre of Durham. In this role, she advances production details for national touring acts that pass through the 1,000-seat historic Fletcher Hall. All in all, she looks forward to seeing what the future holds next!
